Carpentry

Program Overview

The carpentry program is designed to take the student, step-by-step through many phases of the residential and light commercial building trade: reading and understanding scaled drawings, concrete and its usage, different framing methods with a concentration on the platform method, window and door installation (both new and existing structures), siding, roofing, insulation, interior drywall and finish trim.

The student begins with the development of their body, hands and mind in order to operate the many different hand and power tools associated with the carpentry trade. Through an organized and disciplined approach to building construction we develop the students’ safety awareness and career readiness skills.
